Riding Events

The young people who attend the Archway Project have the opportunity to take part in a number of different riding events that are organised throughout the week. Those who attend the regular weekly sessions will be able to ride the bikes that they have helped to maintain and repair. This means that every five weeks they will visit one of the off-road tracks the we use in Brentwood or East London.

In addition to the regular riding events, Archway project also enters riders in various endurance and team events which will challenge their skills and knowledge of the bikes. These include trial biking where competitors have to complete an obstacle course on their bike without touching their foot on the floor. Other events include endurance competitions where a bike will be ridden continuously over a course for twelve hours or more, sometimes by the same rider or sometimes as part of a team.

Riders from the Archway Project have consistently reached a high level in such events where the value of team work is demonstrated on a very practical level.
